Notification – Upcoming Introduction of Two Factor Authentication (2FA) for @PBS

Penrith Building Society is introducing additional functionality to the @PBS portal later in the year, allowing members to transact in certain circumstances through this channel. As part of the set up of this additional functionality, the Society needs to ensure there is appropriate security in place for all users.

Therefore, from early October, the Society is introducing a Two Factor Authentication (2FA) step as part of the login process to the @PBS system. This will be a mandatory requirement for all users of the @PBS system and will enhance the security of the access to the portal and improve validity of identity checks for members accessing the @PBS portal.

2FA will require members to undertake an extra step when logging into @PBS and as part of this authentication, a passcode will be sent to a nominated mobile phone number. The Society is therefore requesting that members registered for this portal. login and review their @PBS registration to ensure a valid mobile phone number is included. The Society strongly recommends you use a mobile phone number for 2FA, however a landline number can also be used.
