The Society will allow the borrower(s) solicitors/licensed conveyancers to act for both itself and the applicants in the preparation of the mortgage deed and release of the advance monies providing:
(a) The firm is listed on the Law Society website.
(b) The firm must have at least three senior principals unless it is listed in the panel maintained by the Society (see also below) or they operate within Cumbria and it is possible to make confidential enquiries with regards to their suitability where there are less than three senior principals.
(c) The firm has the relevant level of Personal Indemnity Insurance, based on the type of firm,
i.e. partnership, LLP or company.
